Chief Technology Officer - SaaS Scale up

Reporting to the CEO/Founder and joining the exec board, we are currently looking for a highly experienced ‘Operational’ Chief Technology Officer (CTO), to play a leading role in driving the technology strategy and direction as the company enters an exciting international scale phase following a recent large investment round.

A key hire to the board, we are looking for a strategic technology leader with a deep understanding of SaaS, a proven experience in scaling technology and teams, and the ability to execute a high-growth roadmap.

Do you have proven experience and a track record:

• In a technology leadership role within a PE / VC backed SaaS organisation?
• Driving R&D ensuring it fits into and works across the entire business and global markets?
• Leading and building strong technology teams (30+) focused on modern software development, cloud technologies, infrastructure and security?

Core responsibilities include:

• Define and implement a clear technical vision | roadmap that supports rapid scale and aligns with the company’s mission and growth objectives.
• Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to translate business goals into scalable and secure technical solutions.
• Partner closely with commercial, sales, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure alignment on goals and seamless execution of the growth roadmap.
• Lead platform scalability initiatives to ensure the core products can handle increased traffic, users, and data demands.
• Oversee cloud infrastructure management, ensuring cost-effective scaling and efficient resource usage.
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team, nurturing a culture of innovation, ownership, and accountability.
• Lead recruitment, retention, and training initiatives to attract top technical talent aligned with the company's growth and vision.
• Drive agile development practices and ensure a rapid iteration process, balancing speed with stability and performance.
• Lead automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and speed up the delivery pipeline.
• Develop proactive security policies, foster a security-first mindset across the company conduct regular audits, and ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2) as the company scales.
• Translate complex technical challenges into strategic insights for executive leadership and board members.
• Engage with investors and stakeholders to demonstrate how technology initiatives support growth, customer acquisition, and retention.

Key experience / track record you will offer:

An experienced CTO, you’ll offer a strong background in SaaS, experience in high-growth environments, and the skills to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution to meet investor expectations and drive value creation.

• Experience scaling teams and platforms in fast-growing SaaS environments.
• Demonstrated success in optimizing and scaling cloud infrastructure (AZURE) to support multi-tenant SaaS architecture and data growth.
• Excellent people management skills with a history of building, developing, and leading high-performing teams in a high-growth setting.
• Strong commercial acumen with evidence of developing harmonisation between tech, commercial, sales and marketing teams.
• Ability to balance short-term objectives with long-term vision, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
• Prior experience working closely with PEs and understanding the unique demands of a PE backed startup.
