Senior Project Manager

CONTRACT Senior Project Manager - Commercial Change and eCommerce -£550 p/d | 1-2 p/w in London | 6 Month Contract | Outside IR35

MRJ Recruitment is partnering with a leading e-commerce business to find a Senior Project Manager to lead a key program of change within our client's commercial function. This role will play a vital part in driving the delivery of their commercial vision over the next 6 months, focusing on improving and accelerating the acquisition of new suppliers, optimising peak planning, and executing ad-hoc projects aimed at strengthening our overall commercial proposition.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience leading projects within commercial functions, with a deep understanding of eCommerce principles. This is a leadership role, requiring both strategic thinking and the ability to roll up your sleeves and engage in the details of project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Program of Change: Drive the execution of the program of change to support commercial objectives, including improving supplier acquisition processes and speeding up product onboarding.
• Collaboration with the Leadership Team (LT): Work closely with the LT to align project plans with commercial goals, ensuring efficient execution and meeting key milestones.
• Peak Planning: Collaborate with the LT to define and implement a plan for peak periods that supports the overarching commercial goals.
• Ad-Hoc Projects: Manage various initiatives within the commercial function aimed at strengthening the overall proposition and driving business growth.
• Problem-Solving and Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies within current processes and work hands-on to resolve them, ensuring operational excellence at all levels.

Requirements:

• Commercial and eCommerce Experience: A strong background in commercial project management, with a clear understanding of the principles of online retail. You don’t need to be tech-savvy, but a grasp of eCommerce dynamics is essential.
• Proven Leadership Experience: Experience in leading projects as the sole project manager or lead, rather than being part of a wider PMO function. The ability to take the initiative, work independently, and drive results is key.
• Action-Driven Personality: A confident, results-oriented individual who is not afraid to challenge approaches or raise concerns at the leadership level while being able to dive into the details and drive change at the operational level.
• Strong Communication and Collaboration Skills: Comfortable working collaboratively with senior stakeholders and navigating both strategic and hands-on aspects of project management.

Desirable:

• Experience working within a commercial function or retail environment.
• A proactive and solution-oriented approach, with the ability to balance big-picture thinking and detailed execution.
