Position: Infrastructure Engineer

🏡 What will your role be?

Joining our infrastructure team in the UK, we are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our IT infrastructure across the awaze group.

A varied role where no two days are the same, you will work across various systems, including servers, networks, cloud environments, and storage, ensuring they operate efficiently, securely, and effectively, whilst also working closely with other IT teams to ensure the smooth operation of critical business applications and services.

🏡 Day-to-day you will:

• Design and implement scalable and secure IT infrastructure solutions.
• Deploy and configure servers, storage, and other infrastructure components.
• Analyze and optimize, monitor and maintain IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues promptly.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including patch management, backups, and disaster recovery drills.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures across all infrastructure components.
• Work closely with development, security, and operations teams to support continuous integration, operations and improvements.
• Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Provide on call (1 in every 4 weeks).

🏡 Who are you?

An experienced Infrastructure Engineer, it is expected that you will offer experience/knowledge in a mixture of the following:

• Experience/knowledge in AWS, Azure or similar cloud technologies. Should include areas including Cloud compute (including serverless), Cloud Networking, Cloud DNS, Cloud monitoring and Cloud automation.
• Demonstrable experience of Microsoft Windows Server technologies and associated technologies such as Active Directory, DNS, IIS, DFS
• Exposure to Microsoft cloud technologies such as Office 365 and Azure/Entra
• Experience with internal and web monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds and New Relic
• Working knowledge of Enterprise Storage and Backup technologies
• Working knowledge of Patch Management using third party tools such as ManageEngine.
• Attention to detail, desire to learn, ability to work flexibly, take part in an on-call rota, customer focused.
• The ability to quickly diagnose and troubleshoot problems through to resolution by collaborating across technical teams
• An understanding or exposure to agile ways of working

Desirable

• AWS or Azure Certification at Associate or higher, or similar.
• Understanding of Lambda and automation tools including terraform or similar.
