Position: Software Engineer | Search & Explore Team

🏡 What team will you be joining?

Our Search & Explore team here at awaze are responsible for the guest facing applications that allow users to search & find properties.

🏡 What will your role be?

Joining our engineering teams and reporting to our Engineering Manager, you’ll join a culture which revolves around getting things done. We deliver with small, fully autonomous teams that have real ownership of their products using a cutting edge stack in a best-idea-wins meritocracy. We operate what we build – which means reliability is key and devops is part of every engineer’s job description.

🏡 Day-to-day you will:

• Work as part of a full stack product team, you’ll be responsible for building innovative features driving engagement, conversion, and customer experience on our platform.
• Help shape the overall architecture and tech strategy for our Search & Explore product journey using the right technology for the task, rather than allowing the technology to dictate the solution.
• Contribute to driving best engineering practices such as CI/CD, TDD, cloud architectures and pair/mob programming.
• Experiment (it’s encouraged), collaborate, learn and debate.
• Be an active member of the engineering and wider tech community within Awaze.

🏡 Who are you?

You’ll enjoy working in pairs, you thrive in an autonomous product engineering team and enjoy problems, we have many to solve.

A passionate Front End Engineer, with a passion for experimentation and building features to enhance the customer journey, you will offer experience/knowledge in a mixture of the following (we are not expecting you to know everything):

• Experience using React and Next.js to deliver Micro Front Ends
• Additional experience in any of the following would also be great: Node.js, Typescript, GraphQL
• Developing and deploying AWS services (e.g. EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, S3)
• Promotes TDD and has experience of react testing frameworks like Jest and React testing library.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines: GoCD, Jenkins, Bamboo, etc
• Infra-as-code tools such as Terraform, Cloudformation
